IVIE CARES in cooperation with GRACE is asking all IVIE employees to once again step up and give a kid something that will make their day just a little easier. These children desperately need to have successful educational experiences to make a change in their lives, and carrying books around with papers sticking out, and supplies falling out of their pockets just won’t cut it.

We need a variety of colors, but recommend people sticking to solid colors and to stay away from cartoon characters.

July 7th through the 11th the Flower Mound office will be holding a fundraiser for Kindred Spirits, an organization that provides rescue and rehabilitation for small dogs. Many of these animals either came from puppy mills or are older dogs with special needs that would be euthanized if they could not be taken into the Kindred Spirits program. Kindred Spirits has no overhead - everyone with the organization is a volunteer so all donations are spent on the care and feeding of the dogs.

• Bake Sale for breakfast and lunch (Pet & Owner Treats!)
• Raffle for a covered parking spot & one of Mary Quintanilla’s famous cake
• Cutest Pet Contest
• Supply Drive

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We need volunteers to help us run the Bake Sale and Raffle, plus make baked goods for pets and their owners. If you are available Monday, Wednesday or Friday 8:30-9:30am or 12:30-1:30pm to sell bake sale items & raffle tickets please sign up below and indicate the day/time you are available. If you are interested in making baked goods please make note of that as well.

More than 30 people in our Ivie office in Davenport, IA will be participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in their area.

Every pint of blood donated can save the lives of 3 people, but 1,100 donors are needed each day to keep up with demand. The Carter BloodCare bus will be coming to Ivie on June 13th so please take 30 minutes out of your day to donate. Everyone who donates will receive a free t-shirt, snacks & drinks afterwards, plus be entered into a drawing for free movie tickets. We will have the sign up sheet posted here the week of June 2nd so please check back. Two members of our team in PA – Briana and Katie – are joining the DSG team in a 150-mile bike ride to help fight Multiple Sclerosis. Take a look at their websites when you get a chance. Each year, across the nation, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society Relay For Life®. It's a time and place where people come to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we've lost, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives. Nation Volunteer Week is about engaging individuals in service, inspiring a nation to join a movement for change, and recognizing deserving volunteers. It’s about showing the nation that we meet our challenges as members of a true community with all of us working together. It’s also an opportunity to whet appetites for change through volunteerism and get people plugged in to service throughout the remainder of the year. Ivie will be hosting a special outing for 12-15 kids from a local emergency shelter. We are planning fun games and contests, as well as a carnival food wagon for lunchtime. If you are interested in being involved contact Ethan Nahte or Becky Pearce.
